1 Subway Etiquette

2 Offer your seat to an elderly, disabled, or pregnant person
Even better, add a smile.

3 Keep your stuff to yourself
Be a space saver. The less space your things take up, the more room for everyone.

4 Step aside to let others off before boarding the train
If everybody at every door does it, the train can move out faster.

5 Take your trash with you
Dispose of trash properly. You’ll help keep subways clean, and prevent track fires which delay trains.

6 Keep the sound down Keep the music and games to yourself please. Keep your conversations down. Keep your personal devices personal.

7 Take your pack off your back
It’s a simple way to add standing room. But keep it in front of you where you can see it.

8 Please don’t clip and primp
We all want to look our best, but it’s a subway, not a restroom.

9 Don’t be a pole hog Leave room for others to hold on. Share the pole.

10 It’s a subway, not a dining car
It may be take-out, but please, don’t eat here.

11 Keep the doors clear so others can board
Blocking doors blocks traffic and slows service for everyone.

12 Dude, stop the spread, please
It’s a space issue.

13 Poles are for safety, not your latest routine
Hold the pole, not our attention. A subway car is no place for showtime.
