Schematic overview of depositional environments occurring in the terrestrial and marine realm which are mentioned in the text. These environments form the bulk of the environments that occur in the Middle Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous in the Central Graben area. Note that palaeoenvironmental interpretations based on palynology generally reflect sub-regional to regional conditions, whereas palaeoenvironmental interpretations derived from sedimentology reflect local conditions.
