The activity coding lists of countries
Many countries detailed the HETUS-08 coding system from 3 digits to 4 or 5 digits. Italy and Belgium 4 codes Turkey 5 digits Finland 3 digits More digits mean that more detailed activity explanations Which digit number is the best? Finland, Italy and Belgium sent their Activity code list.

121 Lunch meal/break 031 Washing and dressing and 363 Personal services Playing with friends from a child’s diary :739 or 383? 614? A new code can be added. From social life? Or hobbies? Break times in school, 211, 998 Friday prayer by Muslim men at work? From 432 instead of 111? 200:Unspecified study 300: Unspecified household and family care Travelling code primary or secondary activity?

Which activities should be adapted?
Finland sent the Finnish coding list of their survey. Serbia added new activity code under Child care (38) - Supervision of children by another household member, excluding parents and siblings. (388 - Supervision by another household member, excluding parents and siblings)

Which activities should be included or removed?
Some codes due to new technology should be added (For example activities about smart phone: smart phone games, loading application, surfing on internet, sharing photo/video on social media, reading from Kindle or internet) As Belgium proposed, some current codes should be changed or removed because of the new technology codes (514, 722 etc.)

Which activities should be included or removed? TURKEY
Place of activity codes are inadequate. Some new codes should be added. Other specified location code should be categorized to new codes as: Bank, hospital, sports hall, etc. Adding-omitting/revision processes were applied for location coding list.

Which activities should be included or removed? SERBIA
Serbia added for TUS 2010/2011: 022 - Drinking coffee, 023 – Smoking cigarettes, (Italy: HETUS08, 531 code?) 388 - Supervision by another household member, excluding parents and siblings This activity 388 is recognised as needed due to the specific situation and family structure that is relatively common in Serbia.

Belgium informed about their BTUS13 codes that included activity clusters for lots of HETUS08 codes. As: 021 Eating, 031 Washing and dressing, etc.) (List in the Attachment)

Italy informed about their ICT codes which included codes about new technology As 2122 Homework on Personel Computer or Internet (List in the Attachment) Also they informed about childrens’ codes. (If the age limit of respondents reduces) As 8211 Watching cartoons and other programs for children
