15 *Opening Prayer Holy Lord God Almighty, Today we remember Job, and pray for those who are burdened with grief and dwelling in darkness. We pray for those for whom life is bitterness and for those who wait for death but it does not come. We pray for those whose groans pour out like water. We pray for those who are overcome by fear and dread, who cannot relax or be still.

We pray for those to whom no rest comes, for trouble comes. Giver of Life and Hope, we place our lives, the lives of those whom we love, the people of this world, and those who are in need, into your hands. Amen.
