How to introduce the problem.
Place eight of the ten terms (randomly in this demonstration) in the outer 8 cells of the grid. The aim is to place the numbers from 1 to 16 in the other cells so that each number satisfies the properties at the top of the column and the left of the row. After a first attempt you could discuss how odd and even shouldn’t appear one as a row heading and one as a column heading. Then give out the worksheet. Who’s the first to manage to place 12 numbers? You could show this on the board. Anybody place more numbers?
