I’m going to give you one minute to study this image. Just look and see what you notice, but don’t write anything down.

Top Left Quadrant As you study each part of the image, jot down your notes in the corresponding square on your sheet. What do you notice about setting: objects, landscape, weather, light, buildings, what people are holding? Foreground, background, edges? What’s happening? Who’s doing what? What goals, emotions, or motivations are suggested by the image? Most importantly, what questions do you have as you look at this part of the image? Use all the time I am giving you to list details. Keep writing down anything you see or infer.

Take a few minutes and add to your notes as you look at the whole image again.
Discuss similarities and differences in what you saw with a partner. What conclusions can you draw from these details? If you were to give this image a title, what would it be?
