2 OVER-ARCHING OBJECTIVE AND CONTEXT
Another badgeless initiative Need to maximise benefits to agencies of CEOS participation CSS has illustrated that we have reached a point where agencies might re-consider their participation in CEOS CEOS has become unfocused, with its core activities impacted by ad hoc initiatives Increasingly difficult for most agencies to engage meaningfully with the diverse range of activities/initiatives Need to re-connect with its essential business/core activities and align the CEOS mechanisms accordingly (VCs, WGs…) The 26th CEOS Plenary – Bengaluru, India October, 2012

3-STEP METHODOLOGY Another badgeless initiative Construct the organisational “Status Quo” from existing documentation and current practice Mapping of core functions/activities to key CEOS mechanisms (Plenary, SIT, VCs, WGs, SEO, CEO, etc) Identify duplications, inconsistencies, gaps and improvement opportunities Both internal and external viewpoints CSS documentation source of inspiration Make proposals (in the form of options) to address identified issues The 26th CEOS Plenary – Bengaluru, India October, 2012

SCHEDULE Another badgeless initiative Informal ad hoc planning meeting took place on 8 and 9 October in preparation for 1st meeting of Topical Team in the fringes of this Plenary Initial thoughts of Topical Team expected to be available in January 2013 (to be synchronised with possible workshop) Final deliberations expected in March 2013 (to be synchronised with SIT) The 26th CEOS Plenary – Bengaluru, India October, 2012
