1 Falling into Perspective

2 Day One On a new notes page, write “Falling into Perspective” at the top. Divide the page into three sections:

3 Day One: Warm Up In the upper left corner, write “Filippo Brunelleschi ( ).” Write the following statements: Italian architect, considered to be the first modern ____________________________. One of the earliest artists associated with the Renaissance, he pioneered studies on __________________________________.

4 Day One: Activity For the first few minutes of class, you may work with your partner to finish your presentation. Remember! Artist info, two images, and why did the artist use one point perspective! Today, we will present our findings.

5 Clean Up One person at each group, please stack the Chrome books at the end of the table. Everyone: Gather and tidy your personal belongings. Supplies: Return my supplies to the counter. Trash: Make a loop around the group and make sure everyone has cleaned their work area.

6 Day 2: Warm Up On the bottom half of your notes, write:
Linear Perspective— Foreshortening—

7 Today’s Activity First, we will finish presenting our examples of One Point Perspective. Great job so far! Second, we will begin our next project… Falling into Perspective! You will need big paper, pencil, and sharpies.

8 Directions Step one: Trace your hands and shoes, with your hands disappearing behind the shoes. Step two: Create a character head with a surprised or confused face. Draw the head between the hands. Step three: Draw the body between the hands and feet, going back in space. Step four: Add details to the bottom of the shoes and hands.

9 Clean Up In pencil, write your name and block on the back of the drawing. Everyone: Tidy your personal belongings. Papers: Take up the papers and sort them into the proper portfolios. Supplies: Return supplies to the counter. Return sharpies to me. Trash: Make sure everyone has thrown away trash.

10 Day 3: Warm Up On the bottom half of your notes, write: Oil Pastel—

11 Today’s Activity Today, we will continue drawing our figure and adding color. We will be using a type of crayon called an OIL PASTEL. Oil pastels can be blended and smoothed into many interesting textures and effects.

12 Directions You will color a sky behind your character (either day or night). Add details to the hands and feet. Be careful with the pastels… they can get a little messy! If you need to wash up, no more than two at a time at the sinks!

Supplies: Return supplies to the counter. Return sharpies to me. Trash: Make sure everyone has thrown away trash.

14 Day 4: Warm Up In the upper right corner of your notes, design an emoji that represents how you feel about your upcoming four-day weekend! ^_^ Today, we will continue drawing and coloring our foreshortening project. Note! I’m running low on blue and black. Try to substitute these colors, if you can!

15 Clean Up Everyone: Return pastels to the bowl and tidy your personal belongings. Trash: Make a loop around the table and make sure everyone throws away their trash. Papers: Place a sheet between each paper and return them to the counter. Chromebooks: Log off, check the charge, and stack them at the end of your tables.

16 Day 5: Falling Into Perspective
No warm up today! Papers: As you enter, pass out the work from last week. Today, we will finish working on our Falling into Perspective pieces. Use the oil pastels on the counter. Remember—blues and blacks are running low! If you finish, you may use a Chromebook for Piskel or drawing tutorials.

17 Clean Up Everyone: Return pastels to the bowl and tidy your personal belongings. Trash: Make a loop around the table and make sure everyone throws away their trash. Papers: Place a sheet between each paper and return them to the counter. Chromebooks: Log off, check the charge, and stack them at the end of your tables.
