2. What is an AOW? An article you will receive twice a week.
You will read it, annotate it, and write a one page reflection to receive credit.
You will have 45 minutes to complete this task in class.

Educate you about what is going on in the world
Build stamina when reading
Monitor and improve comprehension
Promote higher order thinking

8. Turning in Articles of the Week…
As a general rule:
The more writing and evidence of thinking in the margins, the better the grade
Use the symbols provided in the Read with a Pen handout (underline, circle, ?, !, arrow, EX, 1,2,3)
Format and neatness matters! If I can’t read it, I can’t grade it!
Use a pencil, it’s easy to erase a mistake
