Visual aids helps the Aud.grasp the most imp. Ideas. Analytical + fact finding are already in tabular, graphic form so sorting+refining visuals help U decide exactly what UR going to say. Visuals—develop graphic story line –helps in written report. Text explains + refers to any table/ chart/diag saves UR time to read. PPT –interesting,holds people’s attention will understand +remember UR message The mind favors info thru. Picture + quickly forgets info in words/Nos.

When to Use Visuals Purpose -------- Application
1.To clarify Support text des.of ‘graphic’ topics Quant or Num.info.,expl. Of trends,descriptions. 2. To Simplify -Break up complicated Des.into components that can be depicted with conceptual models,flow charts,organizational charts/diagram 3. To emphasize – Call Att.to imp. Pts by illustrating them with line,bar + pie chart. 4. To summarize – Review major pts. In narrative by chart or a table that sums up the data.

Decide what you want to say. Pick out the points that can best be made visually. Our job is to analyze the information and decide how to present it Analyze Raw data to identify the points that support UR main idea. Judge whether U have too much or too little of graphics. Maintain balance between visual and matter. Your Time line +access to resources will govern the no. of visuals.
