The first point What difference it will make if the complicated argument moved to the other side of the equation? What’s the picture? ANS: (1)The shifted form will make sure deeper events will not help the movement of shallower events. (2)The distance that will be moved for any interface in will be totally determined by the experience of the event corresponding to that interface; or shallower interfaces and layers. (3)For small contrast model, the difference between the results for the two forms are neglegible.

Conclusions and Discussions
The shifted LOIS form is more reasonable which makes sure deeper events will not help the movement of shallower events, or only shallower events will help the movement of deeper events. The HOIS closed form can move the first reflector below water bottom to their accurate location for 1D medium. Further effort is needed to “derive” the shifted form
