Legislation TEC Sec MULTIHAZARD EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN; SECURITY AUDIT. Each school district shall adopt and implement a multihazard emergency operations plan for use in district schools. The plan must address mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery as defined by the commissioner in conjunction with the governor's office of homeland security. At least once every three years, a school district shall conduct a security audit of the district's facilities.

Audit Report A safety audit provides an overview of facility safety by identifying areas that need improvement and also those that are commendable. Focus on the identification of facility hazards, access control procedures, Emergency Operations Plan, drills and exercises, and school climate. Audit information is used to assess the safety and security of a district’s facilities and address concerns that may have been discovered.
