There are 15 cookie jars, numbered consecutively from 1 to 15
There are 15 cookie jars, numbered consecutively from 1 to The number of cookies in each jar is equal to the number of the jar. A “move” consists of choosing one or more jars, then removing one or more cookies from the chosen jars, BUT the same number of cookies from each jar.
5
For Example A move would be to:
Take 2 cookies from jars 13, 14 and 15 OR take 1 cookie from each jar Or take 3 cookies from jars 3, 6 and 9
6
So….. What do you think we are going to ask your group to do ?????
7
You are to find the fewest number of moves to empty all your cookie jars. Your group will need a scribe to record your moves AND what strategy your group employed.
8
Is there a way to predict the number of moves for any set of consecutive number jars?
