Many Texans upset Santa Anna would go free (Many wanted him executed)
For his protection, Santa Anna is moved to the U.S. under the care of President Andrew Jackson
Mexico refuses to agree to the terms because Santa Anna signed the treaties as a prisoner
Mexico never fully recognizes Texas as an independent nation and a border is never really established
