Ethics Exercise 1 You are researching a speech on prison reform. You run across 2 public opinion polls. One of them, an independent survey done by the Gallup organization, says that a majority of people oppose your position. The other, suspect in its methods and conducted by a partisan organization, says that a majority of people support your position. Both have been published. Can you cite either one?

Ethics Exercises 2 While researching a persuasive speech on legalizing drugs, you find a quotation by Oprah Winfrey where she says that legalizing drugs would save America billions of dollars. She goes on to say that despite this, legalizing drugs would be the worst thing we could do for our country. Since it has been published, can you use the part of the quotation about the financial savings?
