In G1, PAF and EZH2 hyperactivate β-catenin-dependent transcription via association with β-catenin and recruitment of mediator (MED) and RNA polymerase II (Pol II) complexes (left). In S, β-catenin may compete with PCNA for binding to PAF and thus modulate PAF-PCNA-dependent DNA replication and repair/bypass (right). The dashed outline boxes the speculation.
