In UBPA, main lighting systems would apply LED, known as the “green lighting in the 21st century,” and this would be the first time ever that LED lighting is massively applied in urban districts. 2

Expo 2010 will utilize the heat resources from river water and geothermal resources, and by making use of the advantage of the river-fron t location of the Expo site, collect and utilize clean, pollution-free and recyclable energy fo r heating and cooling.

In Pudong, the waste pneumatic pipe conveyance system would be planned and constructed to reduce pollution and transform the waste into useful resources.

The Expo tickets, made by developing and applying radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, could effectively enhance the security of the tickets and efficiency of ticket checking.
