Global Challenge A bag for Juliane Leçon 2
2
A bag for Juliane Design a bag for Juliane to use to help her feel safer when walking to and from school in the dark.
3
Requests from Juliane’s school
Please include at least: a light device created with micro:bit to help Juliane ‘Be safe, be seen’ some reflective materials some features that will make Juliane feel calm if she is feeling anxious It should also be light and easy for Juliane to carry around
4
Learning objectives: to complete a paper prototype of a bag to help Juliane feel safer walking to school to take into account user requirements to write, test and debug detailed, accurate and efficient algorithms including iteration, selection and variables
5
Prototyping An initial, basic version of an innovation.
It allows you to quickly and easily: show how your innovation would work test and trial it get feedback decide what works and what doesn’t
6
Paper Prototyping On large paper: Sketch your bag for Juliane
Add feature labels and explanations as to why they will help Juliane Include a detailed, accurate algorithm for the computerised elements of your bag (pseudocode and/or flowchart)
7
Sample algorithm (flashing light)
INPUT when ON button pressed INPUT ‘on’ sound Start INPUT Détection SI sombre IF dark then INPUT Sense IF moving If moving then OUTPUT light 1 second Pause 1 second Repeat until STOP button pressed SINON, ne rien faire When STOP button pressed SORTIE son 'off' STOP
8
Iteration Selection Variables
The repetition of a sequence. Loops are a form of iteration (repeat until a certain condition is met Selection a decision to be made according to whether a condition is met. e.g. If, then, else Variables used to store information, e.g. light level
