Londonderry C3 Committee Meeting
November 14th 2018

Technology Updates Since We Last Met . . .
We will continue to build off the good work done within the IT Department as well as this C3 Committee through the Budget Season. Two Goals in the Superintendent’s Budget: Based on the data of aging equipment, restart a normal replacement cycle around devices built into the budget. (And continue in future budgets) Ensure we have enough mobile devices to be more flexible when there is state testing, as well as see i-Ready as a tool, not a technology burden that saps all our technology resources.

Upcoming IT Budget and Short/Long Term Plans
Propose a regular replacement cycle of devices. Emphasize mobility in devices so they can “swarm” to grades/groups when needed for testing. Hopefully testing will be less burdensome. Emphasize mobility so curriculum tools like i-Ready can go to teachers and classrooms when needed and be available more regularly. Feasible warrant article to upgrade mostly the wiring and some wireless issues. In time, with more capacity & device mobility, we can better articulate innovative uses for technology that improve our instructional practices and curriculum resources district wide, and align those practices to more universal professional development.
