2 ACTIVATOR: Pass in your H.W. What are some things that you notice? What are some things that you wonder? There are some number of girls and a different number of boys who want to participate in a Trivia Challenge. Each team must have the same ratio of girls and boys.

3 I will be able to: apply the least common multiple or greatest common factor
So I can: analyze word problems and determine the GCF of two numbers Through prime factorization and To rewrite the sum of 2 numbers using the distributive property. We will show what we know when we successfully complete a minimum of 2 real world or mathematical problems with our group with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.B.4

4 Language Objective BY THE END OF THE LESSON, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE ALL FOUR LANGUAGE DOMAINS 0F LISTENING, SPEAKING , READING AND WRITING. THROUGH DISCUSSIONS, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO USE ACADEMIC MATH LANGUAGE VOCABULARY LIKE FACTOR, LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE, GREATEST COMMON FACTOR, DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY. THEY WILL SHOW THEY UNDERSTAND BY COMPLETING THE REAL WORLD PROBLEMS WHICH WILL BE DISPLAYED AND VIEWED IN A GALLERY WALK. ACADEMIC “MATH LANGUAGE” VOCABULARY: FACTOR, LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE, GREATEST COMMON FACTOR, DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY, PRIME FACTORIZATION

5 Do Now: Solve example 1 on page 85 of packet

9 Students will work in groups to complete the assigned problems from pages 86-91.

10 Today, you will be completing the assigned problems from each station.
You will work together to solve each problem on your pages, and then transfer the work neatly onto the chart paper. You will then participate in a gallery walk, in which you will spend about 5 minutes at each chart and evaluate the work of the other groups. Do you agree or disagree with their answers and why?

11 How Do You Feel? topic.
