writer or speaker says one thing but really means another.
what is said is opposite of what is meant

8. Dramatic Irony
When the audience or reader knows something that a character in a play or story does not know.

9.       Have you ever seen a horror movie that has a killer on the loose?
You, and the rest of the audience, know that the teenagers should not go upstairs.
Needless to say, the teens become the next victims.
