2. General Project is compulsory for an IT Honours degree Module code

Register for Honours for 1st time in 2011 & 2012
Those who registered for RIS692 before, please come and see me afterwards

3. Duration Project is a year module
Must be completed in one year
Can only register for it in the beginning of the year
Careful consideration when to register
Full time (1 year) Honours degree
Register & complete project in that one year
Part time (2 years) Honours degree
Choice to register for project in 1st or 2nd year
Consider whether you have a topic yet or not

4. Duration Consequences
Must complete project in 1 year (year in which you register for it),
else you fail the module and have to re-register for it again the next year

5. Topic
Choice of Topic
Identify need around you for a computerised system from your own experience, from industry or from your family & friends
Ideally you should have a client for which you design the system
Scope – should have difficulty level higher than pure and simple database / web application (the latter = 3rd year level)

6. Proposal Proposal submissions
Submission date: 3 February 2011
Hand in one (typed and bound) copy of proposal to:
Dr. De Wet (WWG309)
For topic and scope consideration; and
For project advisor allocation
You will be advised by whether you proposal has been accepted / what you need to change / supervisor

You will be notified
