3 Day 1- Research & CorkBoard (Lino-It) Post
►I can: Cite strong textual evidence to support analysis Research short inquiry topics Author/Novel Investigation   ►Inquiry Question 1: Author’s Background What do we know about the author’s background, family life, education, and upbringing?  ►Inquiry Question 2: Preparation What supplies are needed for the area traveled to by the author? What is the terrain like? What maps of the region are available? ►Inquiry Question 3: Videography What interviews, film clips, media coverage exists of this individual’s story? ►Inquiry Question 4: Where is the author now? How was the novel reviewed/received? What awards has the author won? What does he/her personal website include? What does he/she do for a living?

4 Day 1- Quotes & Character Analysis
►I can: RN 2.1 cite strong textual evidence to support analysis W tone, vocab, structure, sensory language, transitional phrases research short inquiry topics 1. Groups will read the chapter epigraphs of both authors Paraphrase the quote, determine a theme, list character traits, web (whiteboards) 2. Writer’s Workshop: FBI profile of our character using inferences Assess: personality traits, interests, hobbies, location raised, political views, socioeconomic status, education, possible employment 3. Author/Novel Investigation Presentations -Finish research posts & present to group

5 Day 2- Theme Exploration
