History Galileo Galilei discovered Jupiter in Italy in 1610 looking through a telescope. Jupiter’s name means mythology Zeus. This is Jupiter’s symbol.

Solar System Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun.
It is 484 million miles from the sun. It takes 433,259 days to orbit around the sun. It takes 9 hours and 55 minutes to rotate.

Moons Jupiter has 4 moons. Europa. Ganymede. Calisto. Io.

Planet appearance Jupiter is a brown planet.
Also it has tan stripes, black, orange, yellow spots on it, and has a red spot on it that has been on it for 300 years. It looks like a huge basket ball. The red spot is bigger than Earth.

It has a rocky core inside of it. The weather on Jupiter has a lot of dust storms because there is a red and black spot that makes the dust storms over 300 years On Jupiter I would weigh pounds.
