We have a website designed for parents so that you are able to find the information you need to support your child in Junior Social Science. On this website you will find assessment dates, essay questions, concepts, study resources and photos.

9 Homework Classroom teachers decide how much and how often to set homework. This is dependant on the needs of the students within their class. Use of a digital calendar is strongly recommended to keep track of homework and assessment dates. PCschool app for parents to view homework set by teachers.

10 Rangitoto College Values
This year we are incorporating our school values into our teaching. Each term there will be a core value that is believed to be vital in raising mature, well rounded young adults. The values relate to the topics throughout the year, so that they are easily relatable to the real world and the content being studied.

11 How Can Parents Help? Content: Discuss concepts
Multiculturalism, Push-Pull model of migration, Refugee, Change and Respect. Assessment: Be aware of assessment dates Test - One hour period in class Week 10 PEEL Paragraph - In class after week 5 (date chosen by the teacher) Current Events: Encourage discussion Discuss events in the news especially around migration and refugee movement.
