Housing Needs Assessment 2013
Key findings include: 89,872 households were assessed as qualified for housing support as of 7th May 2013. Single person households made up the largest household type (44%) followed by single adults with a child or children (30%) Half (52%) of those who qualified for housing support had their main need categorised as ‘dependent on rent supplement’

Circular Housing 5/2015 January 2015, 4 Dublin LA’s were required to allocate a minimum of 50% of housing to priority households LAs in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford were to allocate 30%

The DRHE reported to the housing and homelessness committee that in 2015 as a result of the protocol 1,059 households moved out of homeless services. This was a record achievement for homeless and housing services in that year. A total of 87% of that 1,059 came from local authorities and approved housing bodies this compares with (46% of 793 in 2013)
