PSNC Contractors should not rely on evidence from previous declarations because the timescales have changed for the criteria and there are a couple of additional requirements that contractors must meet There may be some evidence that is sufficient, such as the Healthy Living Pharmacy certificate issued by the Royal Society for Public Health, however contractors must ensure that they meet the criteria with the appropriate evidence on 29th June Evidence from previous declarations that does not meet the new timescales and criteria on 29th June will not be sufficient to meet the criteria.

Should be in the pharmacy (not consultation room or window) and be clearly visible to patients/customers Must be eye catching and contain only ONE health message at a time Must contain relevant and up to date resources, which are used by staff when discussing health promoting interventions Information must appeal to a wide range of the public including men and women, young people, ethnic minorities, learning difficulties, older people

All material should be generic and not promoting one brand over another, which can be seen as an endorsement or promotional Resources should be updated at least every 2 months (6 campaigns a year) The purpose of the HPZ is to support local and/or national public health messages The HPZ can be used to promote pharmacy services such as MURs, Flu Vaccinations, Smoking Cessation, Sexual Health, etc The HPZ is an excellent way to initiate conversations with patients around difficult subjects such as alcohol, obesity and sexual health

Other local services also look for agencies such as Age UK,Alzheimers Society, MIND, Healthwatch - contact them and find out what they offer and how you can signpost into their services (remember by contacting other local organisations you are also promoting your own pharmacy and services)
