Immunocytochemical stainings reveal that, in some tissues, immunoreactivity for guanylin is concentrated at the apical pole of the secretory epithelial cells. Immunoreactivity for GC-C, cGKII, and CFTR is confined to the apical membrane domain of gallbladder epithelial cells.
