Monday: Past vs. Passed (Copy these rules!)
Past and passed sound alike, but their meanings are different. Past may be a noun meaning a time gone by. It may also be an adjective meaning in a time before. It can also be an adverb meaning to go by, or a preposition meaning beyond. Passed is the past tense of the verb to pass. It has many meanings, such as to give something, to succeed at something, or to move ahead.
