He was the son of Portuguese aristocrats

Ferdinand Magellan sailed for Portugal
He was the first sailor to circumnavigate the
World
His goals were to get to the Spice Islands

They would want Gold, money, and spices that were on Magellan's ship.

6. Magellan was unique
Magellan was unique because he was the first sailor to circumnavigate the world without knowing and he never made it to where he wanted to go!
