Cell Processes

Respiration Definition: A process that makes energy to build or repair cells. Chemical Formula: C6H12O6 + 6O2  6CO H2O (sugar) (oxygen) (carbon dioxide) (water) Where does it occur?: Mitochondria

MITOSIS Definition: A process of cell reproduction
What does it do?: The cell splits into two new cells (daughter cells) and are identical to each other. Where does it occur?: Nucleus

WASTE ELIMINATION Definition: A process where cells get rid of waste products (poisons) through diffusion. Where does it occur?: Cell membrane

PHOTOSYNTHESIS Definition: A process where plants use sunlight to make food. Chemical Formula: 6CO H2O  C6H12O6 + 6O (carbon dioxide) (water) (sugar) (oxygen) Where does it occur?: Chloroplasts
