The Catholic Church had a series of bad Popes in the middle ages ( ) - involved in wars - mistresses - spent church money on themselves Martin Luther- Monk in Germany - wrote a document called 95 thesis a. outlined 95 things the church and Pope had to change, mostly with sale of indulgences - Spark the Protestant Reformation

6 Protestant Reformation 1517-1648
People from all over Europe split from the Catholic Church and began there own Christian religions Catholics fight back. Extremely bloody religious wars throughout Europe for more than 100 years
