Strategic planning is about aligning resources and action to accomplish goals that help us deliver on the vision and mission of the college. All our operational plans should be linked to the strategic plan, vision, and mission.

7. Why is Strategic Planning more important than ever?
Driving Forces of Change in Higher Education
We want continuous improvement, but we are mindful of the many internal and external forces and factors that impact the work we do. We want to be adaptable, but at the same time we don’t want to lose sight of what we have determined, through the strategic planning process, are the important goals of Hartnell College. As a result of change, we might have to adjust our strategy, but we want to stay focused on what is important.
