First Americans First Americans= Native Americans
The Native Americans moved around often because they needed to follow their food source- Wooly Mammoths and Giant Bison. Pueblo Native Americans lived in the states now called: New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and Texas Pueblo means “town” or “village” in Spanish

Pueblos The Pueblo Native Americans lived near rivers because rivers provided them with water. Water was an important geographic feature to early people.

Texas Tribes The Jumano and Tigua Tribes were the two main Pueblo tribes in Texas.

Tigua The members of the Tigua Tribe are still an important part of the City of El Paso today.

Tigua The Tiguas were farmers of corn, beans, squash and other types of food. The Tiguas are federally recognized by the U. S. Government.

A sandal was found in a cave in the Mountains
A sandal was found in a cave in the Mountains. The sandal was used for covering the Native Americans feet and protect them from the elements. They used the Yucca plant to make the sandals. It was preserved for so many years because it was kept in a cool, dry and dark cave.
