Stroke and Strategies Hitting Side Keywords
PART 1 Theory Stroke and Strategies Hitting Side Forehand hit: right side hit with right hand hold (and vice versa) Backhand hit: left side hit with right hand hold (and vice versa) Keywords Hitting Sides: forehand, backhand Offensive: hit, loop, counter, flick, smash Defensive: push, chop, block, lob Spin
10
Stroke and Strategies Offensive Strokes Keywords
PART 1 Theory Stroke and Strategies Offensive Strokes Hit: perpendicular to direction of ball, for speed rather than spin Loop: create top spin, more spin, better control, less speed Counter: hold racket steady, to hit off the bounce Flick: close to table stroke, focus on wrist motion Smash: strike high or close to net ball, hard strike Keywords Hitting Sides: forehand, backhand Offensive: hit, loop, counter, flick, smash Defensive: push, chop, block, lob Spin
11
Stroke and Strategies Defensive Strokes Keywords
PART 1 Theory Stroke and Strategies Defensive Strokes Push: keep ball alive, minor underspin. Emphasize on placement Chop: create strong backspin, creates float effect Block: Like a counter, position racket to bounce ball back. Lob: high loop, aim to gain time, providing trick spins. Keywords Hitting Sides: forehand, backhand Offensive: hit, loop, counter, flick, smash Defensive: push, chop, block, lob Spin
12
Stroke and Strategies Types of Spin Keywords
PART 1 Theory Stroke and Strategies Types of Spin Back spin: float Top spin: drives forward Side spin: curves Cork spin: back + side spin, short serve with multiple bounces Keywords Hitting Sides: forehand, backhand Offensive: hit, loop, counter, flick, smash Defensive: push, chop, block, lob Spin
13
Equipment and funding Keywords Tables: table top, folding mechanism,
PART 1 Theory Equipment and funding Table Top: MDF board, ½ in to 1 in Folding material and mechanism (plastic or metal, save hinges) Racket Pre-assembled, cheap, good for defense rackets Assembled rackets Purchase blade/rubber separately, infinite combination Net Clip-on on vs screw-on. Keywords Tables: table top, folding mechanism, Racket: defensive Assembled rackets: blade and rubber Ball: stars, hardness Net: Clip on vs screw on, net replacements PAC Gaming fund
