The New Transport White Paper  main framework for Transport policy The Strategic Transport Technology Plan (STTP)  clearer long term technology perspective better management of innovation pathways stronger alignment of research, innovation and transport policies Next Framework Programme (FP8)  What should be funded? Which delivery modes? A policy paper for FP8 will be issued early 2011 Smooth transition towards FP8 6

7 KEY ASPECTS A multi-annual strategy the period to ensure a balanced approach & complementarity among Calls Coherence Policy framework (new elements) Comply with commitments (SP, EGCI, JTIs) Complementarity & synergy Review of previous calls JTIs: Clean Sky, SESAR, FCH Other themes/actions Planning & budget for 2 main calls for each AAT & SST; 1 call for TPT? Indicative budget for : ~ 600 M€ (~ 320 for 2012) 7
