2. I. What is a citizen?
A citizen is a person who owes loyalty to a particular nation nation and is entitled to all its right and protections
To be a US citizen , you must fulfill one of three below
1. born in the US (or at least one parent is a US citizen)
2. have been naturalized ( completed legal process to become a citizen)
or younger when parents were naturalized
C. Naturalized citizens can enjoy same rights and privileges as those born here EXCEPT they can not run for Presiden

3. II. Civil and Democratic Values
Founding Fathers admired civic virtue, the willingness to work for the good of the nation or community.
Values like honesty, compassion, patriotism, respect, responsibility and courage
Patriotism is a feeling of love and devotion for your country. Inspires some to serve in the military

4. III. Responsibilities of a Citizen
Government and citizens must work together to meet our needs as a democratic society
Our civic responsibilities include:
Voting
Obeying the Law
Defending the Nation
Serving on a jury
Serving the community
Being informed
