Declarative Statement that tells something; it ends with a period.

Imperative Gives a command or makes a request; ends with a period. “You” is the understood subject. Read this newspaper article about the local can food drive. Sharpen your pencil.

Exclamatory Shows strong feeling; it ends with an exclamation mark.
What a beautiful day it is! Oh, that’s fantastic!

Interjection A word or group of words that expresses strong feeling.
It is not a complete sentence; it’s usually followed by an exclamation mark. Hooray! Wow! Super!
