Geometry Geometry presents special challenges to readiness assessment Common Core requires a modern approach to Geometry, but when or even if the necessary development of fundamental ideas takes place in earlier grades is crucial Example: Geometry of the line – not only analytical (number line) but also synthetic (translation, and reflection about a given point) – needs study even before Algebra and within MATH 1
