navigation skills The polynesian had no instruments with which to navigate therefore it was impossible to travel to distant islands

Reasons for voyaging most of the settlers of the far parts of polynesia would have been fisherman blown off course . Some of the settlers would have been outcasts driven out to sea. then when land was sighted they could make a run for it .

Canoes The polynesian canoes were lashed together with vegtable fibres usually coconut.

European sightings European explorers have recorded finding canoez way off course. Some also find polynesians wrecked and stranded on a small island.

Lack of tools and weapons
Polynesians had been settled by two way voyagers, others would have been explorers . These later visitors would have broguht their own tools or weapons.

Plants and animals Plants and animals were carried all over polynesia in the same way humans were by canoe.
