and His solution.
OUR PROBLEM: We were all born “in Adam” and with a “sinful nature.” Sin is not only what we do; it’s who we are (sinners).
HIS SOLUTION: God offers to move us from “in Adam” to “in Christ.” This gives us the potential to “reign in life.”

In order to consistently win the “tug-of-war” between our sinful nature and our new nature…
…we must have a reliable and loud
conscience.
…live a posture of victory.

4 We were buried with Jesus through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead…we too may live a new life.
6 Our old self was crucified with Jesus so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin –
7 b/c anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

6. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires….
