Abstract When creating and writing for the classroom, teachers must remember that students will carry the words with them. They may not realize at first what they are reading, but one day it will mean something to them. In making a poster, the words are bigger and can have a bigger impact, so the words must be chosen carefully. In this poster, words were chosen from someone who valued words and who has passed. The other words were chosen from the text, called the clear, or easily understood communication guidelines, to help students value each other and themselves as they learn together in community (Anderson & Davis, 2012).

WE ARE A COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS WE ARE DIFFERENT AND WE ARE ALIKE WE CAN COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER
MAKING COMPROMISES RESPECT EACH OTHER BE HONEST ADMITTING MISTAKES SPEAK ONE AT A TIME – ALLOW EQUAL TIME TIME-OUTS AND TAKING BREAKS GIVING REASONS “I” STATEMENTS OBSERVING GUIDELINES AGREED UPON CLARIFYING BY REPEATING “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” (Angelou, 2014). Conclusion When putting together this poster, I looked through all the information in the text and found this and thought this would make a great lesson. It could start the creating of a community within a classroom. In creating a community, the students need to know that we work together and we help each other. In a sense, we protect and promote each other’s ideas and gifts. These ideas were perfect for that lesson (Anderson, & Davis, 2013).
