Encourage them to fill it in at the beginning of each class AND to reference it at home!!

They have a copy in their binder
Running list of all assignments and what they are worth
I reference it often AND collect it at the end of the quarter

I will always give a WEEKEND before test to study

Notes quiz given each quarter to ensure that students are keeping binder organized

7. HW (20%)
HW 2 or 3 times a week Therefore…….no late assignments are accepted.

*ALL HW is checked AND graded *students reminded to enter HW grade on their point log sheet when return it after grading

8. Labs (15%) 1 lab per week on average
several days given to complete lab portion and a few days to answer questions at home.
They have assigned lab groups…...will change lab groups each quarter.

9. Class Notes and Handouts
Copies of my notes are in the
binder in my class room
Copies of all handouts in back of room-sign says extra copies
If needed, I can share my notes, etc in google drive; me

10. Extra help
I welcome and encourage students to come during lunch and/or recess to ask questions-preferably not Friday
Every Tuesday after school
If I see a problem, I may invite them to extra help
Have child me if they want to make a scheduled time

11. Partnership
Balance parenting and child’s need for independence. They still need you!! Call guidance for PTC
Be careful of APR (if child has an Alternate Perception of Reality)
Stay on top but not too much
When in doubt, check it out. Call or even if small issue/question.

In order to be considered for this High School course, the science
department will look at the following grades for quarters
1 and 2:
Science,, English, Social Studies, Foreign Language
In addition, we look at the grade on the screening test that is given by the department in the spring
Must have an 80% average to be invited in
