PEACE OF MIND Do not live in the past
Pre-occupation leads to depression If living in the past – repent Prov 28:13; 1 John 1:9; Heb 8:12 God will forgive us We must forgive ourselves

PEACE OF MIND Do not waste time and energy fighting conditions you cannot change Some things cannot be changed Learn to be content 1 Timothy 6:8; Hebrews 13:5

PEACE OF MIND Make yourself stay involved with the living world
Resist the temptation to withdraw Genesis 2:18 The church is for our benefit Hebrews 3:13; 10:24-25

PEACE OF MIND Do not indulge in self pity when life hands you a raw deal All have “fiery trials” 1 Peter 4:12-14 We’re promised a way of escape 1 Corinthians 10:13 Others have overcome 1 Peter 5:8-10

PEACE OF MIND Cultivate love, joy, compassion, loyalty and good humor
Add the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23 Christians are to be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18-21

PEACE OF MIND Don’t expect too much of yourself
Don’t set unreasonable goals Be a faithful Christian Matthew 16:26

PEACE OF MIND Have something bigger and better than yourself to believe in Children trust in someone bigger and better than themselves Put your faith in God Psalms 62:1-2

TRUE Peace of Mind Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:6-8)
