1. Get a good nights sleep, eat a healthy meal and arrive to school on time. 2. Come to school prepared, bring a healthy snack, wear comfortable clothes, bring a book or another quiet activity and if possible...leave your cell phone at home or powered OFF and in your locker.

3. Make sure to read ALL directions and feel free to underline, circle, star, etc. any words that you want to stand out. Dont forget to paraphrase questions so that they make sense to YOU! 4. Read the selection, while reading dont forget to do comprehension monitoring and reading strategies.

5. For multiple choice questions, read all answer choices, even if you think you already know the answer. 6. For written response questions, make sure you know how many things they are asking you to include in your answer. In fact BOX the number word! 7. If they say use text based details make sure you do! That means you are pulling details straight from the text and putting them in quotes!

8. Use general strategies for success: Take your time, do not rush, do not leave any questions blank, check over your answers before turning it in and do your best.. You ARE prepared! 9. To reduce any possible test anxiety, practice thinking good thoughts and breathing deeply and slowly to create a calm and positive attitude. 10. Being confident and able to apply everything you have learned, combined with test taking strategies is the foundation for a successful student!
