A Local news at 6 p.m. on 4 October A typhoon is approaching.
The strong Typhoon No. 15 is moving northwestward over the sea off southern Okinawa. It is expected to move over the sea off southern Shikoku and head northeast toward the sea off the Kii Peninsula accompanied by strong winds on the 5th, before making landfall on Japan’s Pacific coast on the 6th. Associated thunderstorms* are forecast for the period from late on the 5th until the 6th. Be careful of inundation, landslides, flooding and swollen rivers. Also look out for further typhoon information, including advisories, warnings and alerts issued by the Meteorological Office. A typhoon is approaching. Look out for heavy rain * The thunderstorms referred to here would bring precipitation of 50 – 80 mm per hour.
