3 Example from Mrs. M “Firework” by Katy Perry “Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth” This is a metaphor, comparing two things without using like or as. The singer is comparing a friend to a firework. I think she is encouraging her friend, like saying her friend is awesome, and has more potential than she realizes. “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?” This is a simile, comparing two things using like or as. The artist means, “do you ever feel worthless”?
