Happy Homecoming Week! This week has been filled with crazy socks, sports teams, and all things Trojan! We even had a Trojan horse show up on Friday! In addition to the homecoming activities we did learn some things as well as practice for the upcoming MAP tests. We also discovered a few new websites that make learning fun. More about that below.  This morning our class won the “Hallway challenge” with $212 in hallway bucks! However, we are in 3rd place in the Tens for Trojans challenge. Please keep sending dimes in with your student so that we can fill our bottle to the top! Have a lovely weekend and make sure you cheer on the Trojans to VICTORY tonight! ~ Mrs. Atkinson Dates to remember: Friday 2/10 – Spelling test Friday 2/10 – Science test Tuesday 2/14 – Valentines Party, starts at 2:30 (Valentine boxes are due on this day too) A peek at next week Reading: We are starting our new books on Tuesday. The theme of this unit is Westward Expansion. Math: We will begin working on division of decimals. Writing: We will start our Research paper unit. Science: We will continue learning about Force and Motion. Do you DOJO? Class Dojo is a phenomenal way to keep up with your child’s behavior at school. You can also send me private messages and keep up with important class information, like nightly homework. If you haven’t signed up yet please contact me ASAP. Tutoring is held each Thursday from 3:30-4:45. Students simply need a note stating they can stay. Is your student coming home talking about Study Island, Front Row Math, or even Prodigy? These are some of the fun and exciting websites we are using at school to enhance our classroom learning. Your student can even play on these sites at home. MATH GAMES Class code – gfpbac Look for the welcome letter from Prodigy in your child’s backpack today! ALL SUBJECT AREAS Study Island is a popular online program aligned to Missouri State Learning Standards and used to reinforce critical skills. When a student has mastered 80% of a subject they receive a blue ribbon. Our students are competing against each other to be the Blue Ribbon Champion.
