Objective: Students will be able to identify central ideas and supportive textual evidence in A View From the Bridge. Agenda A.) Do Now: Turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will share with the whole class. B.) Work Period: Finish reading Act I of the play, A View From the Bridge. What can you determine are the central ideas (also known as main ideas, themes or lessons learned) revealed in the play so far? Read along with the audio version (with Ed O’Neill). Identify textual evidence (quotes and page numbers) to support your chosen central ideas. C.) Q & A/Reflections: How do the characterization and conflicts between the characters support the central ideas?
