Who was Reinhard Lakomy
Who was Reinhard Lakomy? Our school is called Reinhard Lakomy Primary School. Reinhard Lakomy was born on the 19th January in Magdeburg. He died on the 23rd March 2013 in Berlin. His wife was Monika Erhard. She helps him with the song texts. She is still alive. Mr Lakomy was a famous composer. He has written songs for children, adults and musicals

The “Dream magic tree” is very wellknown
The “Dream magic tree” is very wellknown. Every second year our pupils perform a musical. This is always a great event. So we played “The blue Y” at least. This year we will perfom “ The Rainbow”. A lot of parents, children, teachers , the mayor and other people watched our musical performance.

What is our school symbol
What is our school symbol? You know that Reinhard Lakomy has written a lot of pieces of music. One of them was the “ Dream magic tree”. Therefore is our school symbol a tree. It is green with notes in and around it.

Such a tree is on our building and another one in our entrance hall
Such a tree is on our building and another one in our entrance hall. In August we decorate the tree in the hall for the school beginners with little cornets of cardboard filled with sweets.

Where is our school. Our school is in the South of Cottbus
Where is our school? Our school is in the South of Cottbus. It is situated in the former village Groß Gaglow. It has got a very good position.

The number 13 bus stops opposite the school
The number 13 bus stops opposite the school. That’s very good for the pupils who go by bus every day. A lot of other pupils go by bike or on foot. Our school is next to a football pitch. This is the home of the sports club “SG Groß Gaglow”.

But in and around Groß Gaglow you can find other important buildings, too. There is a shopping centre, a hairdresser, a church, a cinema, an electronic shop and three car houses.

Opposite of our school is our garden
Opposite of our school is our garden. We plant vegetables and fruit there. We use biology lessons for working and learning activities there. The neighbour villages are Klein Gaglow and Gallinchen.

How many pupils have we got
How many pupils have we got? We have 12 different classes with 289 pupils at our school. These are 4 Flex classes , two third, two fourth, two fifth and two sixth classes.

The pupils learn in 19 different rooms
The pupils learn in 19 different rooms. These are 12 classrooms and 6 special rooms like the keyboard room, a computer room, a snoezel room and 4 more rooms for the Flex classes. Some of the class rooms are special rooms, too. For example the both music rooms. One of them is used as room for drummers. Another special rooms are the English room, the Science room and the Art room.

Our headteacher is Mrs Rothbart. Mrs Bagola is our deputy headteacher. In our school work 15 teachers, 3 teachers for special needs, one secretary, a caretaker and a social worker.

What clubs have we got? At our school are a lot of different clubs which we can visit: - volleyball - football - biking - table tennis - climbing and athletics - guitar and drum lessons - choir - cooking - chess and more.
